Due to icy road conditions, all services have been canceled - Sunday February 11.
Each December, the children at Mount Comfort perform a beautiful story of the nativity as told in scripture. It is an evening of worship lead by them as they share their talents and tell the story of Godâs greatest gift. The congregation supports the play each year as we usually have about 25 children participate, with several volunteers helping. We end the evening with a fellowship meal for all who attend. We want to affirm and encourage the children at Mount Comfort to use their talents to glorify and honor God. This is a wonderful opportunity for them to grow and realize the gifts God has given them.

He went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem. As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, âSaul, Saul, why do you persecute me?â âWho are you, Lord?â Saul asked. âI am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,â he replied.

The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the deadâwhom you killed by hanging him on a cross. God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might bring Israel to repentance and forgive their sins. We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.â

But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, âThis man welcomes sinners and eats with them.â Then Jesus told them this parable: âSuppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesnât he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, âRejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.â I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
Sermon Text for October 25, 2015 Acts 5:1-4 (NIV) Now a man named Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira, also sold a piece of property. With his wifeâs full knowledge he kept back part of the money for himself, but brought the rest and put it at the apostlesâ feet. Then Peter said, âAnanias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didnât it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasnât the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.â

Sermon Text for October 11, 2015 Acts 3:2-8 (NIV) Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, âLook at us!â So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them. Then Peter said, âSilver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.â Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the manâs feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.
Sermon Text for October 4, 2015 Acts 2:42-47 (NIV) They devoted themselves to the apostlesâ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him."

My sister Veronika was just taken to hospital after a strange seizure and they found she has a brain tumor. They donât know yet if its malignant or benign, the surgery is scheduled next week, they will know more after that. It came as a complete shock, she was healthy and had no problems/symptoms. She is 36 and has three small children. Please pray for her health, for the doctorsâ wisdom, for the whole family. If possible, please share this prayer request with your congregation. Thank you!
